Greetings from (not so) sunny London where royal fervour has reached fever-pitch and everything that stands still for too long gets covered in the Union Jack in some way or another! But I’m getting ahead of myself – there are still several other fabulous places to share with you before I go into any detail about London! I’m finding it a little difficult to find the time and brain-space to sit down and write whilst travelling around so much so, just to let you all know that I’ve not forgotten about you entirely, here is another little competition as a treat.
Whilst I’m more than happy to eat them, I’m not a macaron baker myself, but I know that many of you are keen to take on this particular challenge. Having just spent a few days in sunny Paris, it was most timely and very generous for Everten to offer me this fabulous Mastrad silicone macaron baking sheet as a prize for my readers. Of course it is completely non stick, brilliantly flexible so that you can flip out the cooked product and has sensible ridges to stop the batter from oozing.
Anyone can enter by just leaving a comment below. For extra chances to win just “Like” either Lambs Ears and Honey and/or Everten on Facebook and/or follow Lambs Ears and/or Everten on Twitter. You may enter once a day by Tweeting a link to this page, too. Just follow the prompts below – and good luck!
Competition closes midnight, Friday 15 June, 2012.

Wow, this sounds amazing, Amanda! What a great invention for the kitchen. I have yet to make macarons, so would love love love to win this one! Of course, I have eaten them… plenty of them! ; ) Happy travels.
Hi Amanda!
I love baking macarons! The ones I enjoyed the most are the latest I have made… mango and passion fruit!
My girls would so love this – they are the macarons bakers in this house ! We tried a bright aqua one the other day, bubblegum in flavour !
That’s a very cool gizmo! I have a list of must try things when i get back from Germany on much anticipated annual leave – they are bread, rough puff and macarons! So lots of baking to be done! This would help alot with the trial of the macarons so instead of focusing on piping them properly i can focus on making them a fabulous flavour!
Have fun on the rest of your travels.
What a clever prize! I love Everten. They have everything.
Can’t wait to hear about your travels. I’m very envious of your holiday.
Good to see you enjoying your travels Amanda. I’m not a macaron maker either. My niece has just started making them so I’d love to win the tray for her.
I love all your recipes. They are fantastic. I would love to try out that silicon mat!
They look interesting; are the ridges high enough to do what they are meant to?
Can’t say I’ve had the pleasure of eating Macaroons. But I might just try and make some after reading this
Great idea to keep them uniform in size! Hope you’re enjoying your trip
I did a macaron making class in Paris on the recent trip and they used something similar!
I thought for a minute you were going to bake red, white and blue macarons! On reflection, I’m glad you didn’t.
I’m another one who doesn’t bake them – but I have a granddaughter who does and I’m sure she would share!
The “fancy” baker in our house is my 12 year old boy – wonder if I could persuade him to give macaroons a go this summer holiday?
High Functioning Asperger + Fancy Baking is a very good mix LOL
I’ve tried to make macarons and I’m not very good at it. Perhaps I need one of these silicone thingies! I’ve heard summer has been very late to arrive in the UK this year xx
I only recently tasted my first macaron when my daughter put on a High Tea for me for Mothers’ Day. She did herself proud that day with an array of sweet and savoury little morsels and even arranged to get my interstate daughter over for it as well. I would love to win this baking sheet Amanda so that I could try making them myself and prove to her that she could have made them in her Thermomix.
Love macarons, but haven’t been to successful in my attempts at making them!
Best flavored: Neopolitan icecream. One half strawberry, the other chocolate, a vanilla filling and hundreds of thousands sprinkled in between!
This is such a good idea – it is hard to get all the macaroons even shapes, so this is brilliant. I love how chewy macaroons are, bit of work to make though, with this invention it will be much easier.
Yes I have tried making them and they miraculously turned out. I love chocolate flavours!
Have yet to try the making of these little delicacies, but I am a keen baker so would hope that it wont be too long before I give them a go..any flavour to begin with, but will probably try a choccie one to keep the young ones happy!!
These look amazing… Thanks for another great giveaway!
Have yet to try my hand, but would love to make chocolate and also passionfruit then once i have the hang of it start to get creative
YUM! I was going to attempt my first ever batch of Macarons this weekend. One of these sheets would be perfect
have never attempted these but i would if i had a guide for sure. would be even better if i had a kitchen aid
well it will be a start anyway
good luck everyone
I have not tried my hand at macarons. I have considered them out of my league.
However, if I were to win this baking sheet, I will have fun creating my own version of Pina Colada macarons.
I looove macaroons but pistachio macaroons are the most heavenly!
I can never get enough of macarons. And love the blog too! Thanks for all the interesting posts.
Perhaps these silicone molds with help me make successful macaroons- they are deceptively tricky things to perfect (but so worth it)!
What a wonderful invention! My older children who bake would love this – and I would love to taste the results!
How good is that. Never made a macarron, let alone tried one, can’t find them
Thanks for a great giveaway
Oops, I forgot to answer the question. I’ve never tried making them, just my daughters have tried. I like the ones that have chocolate in some form…
hazelnut macaron are my favourite. I did some serious damage at the Hermé store in Paris
I’ve failed 9 out of 10 batches of macarons, and through this journey, I’ve used a variety of recipes, mannn there are just so many sugar to egg white to almond flour ratios out there, things can get really confusing. But I must say, the feeling of making uncracked smooth-top macaron shells, and just slowly savouring your own creation afterwards, one of the best feelings a baker can get
I tried them once but it was a disaster in terms of looks, they tasted yummy but they all stuck to the pan! I love strawberry
My grandson and I would have heaps of fun with this.
Have not tried macarons but I think our favourite would be strawberry!
Wow, this sounds awesome and spectacular! Really great invention for the kitchen.
I’ve never made them, but I love strawberry
I’ve not tried them *embarrassed* but think strawberry would be delicious
I “Like” Lambs Ears and Honey on FB
Used to bake macaroons all the time years ago, hazlenut ones, for some reason got out of the habit. Never had any problems, now that I’ve read some people do, I’ll muck them up. That happened to me with cheese sauce, made it for ages, without any worries. A friend said, “oh aren’t you good making it from scratch, I can never make that” Well it took me two years after that to make an edible, no lumps cheese sauce.
This would make me try to make them after all. The best macaron I have tried was cognac flavoured, in a little bakery in Paris.
My daughter loves Macarons and this would be a perfect birthday present to give her in a month’s time.
No I’ve never tried to make them, they look a little scary. But I’m sure with this tray it would make the job much easier
I have yet to make my own Macarons, but my favourite flavor to eat is salted caramel, yummy. I think they’ll be the first ones I make
Macarons are one thing I haven’t tried my hand at yet. Too busy making chocolate brownies!
My teen is getting very creative in the kitchen and has made chocolate macarons. They were delish.
One attempt at Macarons so far! Tasted amazing as i’d used an Adriano Zumbo recipe, but looked hideous!
So hard to make but so good to eat!
Never tried macarons, but will to give them a go!
I’ve never tried making them, but as always I’m sure chocolate would be the way to go
Ive gave it a go once so far i havent gave up yet though ! Its something I plan on conquering to get it right
