The image above is a picture of innocence, isn’t it? Fresh, home-baked brownies and a wholesome glass of milk – hardly the stuff that leads down the road to ruin. Unless, of course, one knocks of the whole batch of brownies in one sitting as I was in very real danger of doing.

Well, we are back on planet normal after our indulgent week in Vietnam, most of which we spent lolling around a fabulous resort which I’ll share with you later. Back here in real life the absence of a vast and sumptuous breakfast buffet was immediately noted and sullenly commented on by The Bloke.

Adelaide Hills Producers – Tumbeela Native Bush Foods

The Adelaide Hills region is a prodigious food basket. I am fortunate and very proud to live in an area which produces so much and such fantastic quality food, of both the farmed and artisan-made varieties. A few weeks back Mikyla Gilbert, of the Adelaide Hills Magazine, and I escorted most of the chefs from the Hilton Adelaide on a tour of just a few of these passionate producers.

Orange, Honey & Walnut Spice Cake – A-Cake-a-Week

Here’s the thing. I’ve just discovered a serious flaw in my cake-a-week plans. Not that I can’t get around to baking once a week, or that the troops let me down with the consumption of a cake a week – no, we’re all good there! My problem is blogging time. I’ve realised that if I blog once a week about cake it cuts into the time I have to blog about other food – and there is so much food to talk about!
