Once again, another year of my life has whizzed straight past me and it is almost time for one of my favourite events – Cheesefest – which will be held next weekend, the 27th and 28th of October, at Rymill Park in Adelaide. This important South Australian annual event is Australia’s biggest cheese festival and provides benchmarks in the promotion, education and development of specialty cheese for the South Australian and the National Cheese industry.
Following on from last years record crowds, this years cheese-lovers will enjoy cheese sampling, cheese cooking, cheese making demonstrations, cheese master classes and some new and exciting cheesey competitions and games. There will be 18 Australian cheese producers represented, with half of these being local South Australian cheese makers and a special selection of our local wines, beers and ciders to wash it all down with. You won’t want to miss the home-made cheesemaking sessions, cheese information sessions with Simon Bryant and cheese and beer info from the McLaren Vale Beer Company so check out the full program here. With the addition of 12 food stalls from the likes of Grace the Establishment, Andre’s Cucina and Polenta Bar and Cocolat I think they’ve got the makings of a local foodie paradise and I can’t wait!
I have two free passes to Cheesefest 2012 for two lucky readers – all you have to do to be in the running to win one of them is to subscribe to my blog using the email subscription form on the right of the page AND leave a comment telling me you have done so and naming your favourite South Australian cheese. It really couldn’t be any easier – maybe I’ll see you next weekend at Rymill Park![mc4wp_form id="16750"]
