Head for the Adelaide Hills and Pick a Pink Lady!

Pick a Pink Lady Weekend

There’s not much to rival the beautiful Adelaide Hills at this time of the year. Our gorgeous slopes have greened up, there is still plenty of autumn colour to admire, it’s cool enough to enjoy the warmth of an open fire without freezing your bits off and the apples are ready for picking!

Pick a Pink Lady Weekend

Pick a Pink Lady Weekend

In the interests of sharing the love – both of the Adelaide Hills and our fantastic fresh produce – two orchards in the premium apple growing district of Lenswood are opening their gates to the public for one weekend on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of May (10 am to 4 pm). This is your chance to take a weekend drive, enjoy the fresh air and the stunning scenery, experience the smells and tastes of a quality apple orchard and learn about apple production direct from the grower.

Just in case you need convincing about the gorgeous scenery, I thought I’d share a couple of shots taken around my neck of the woods. Don’t want to sound too boastful, but I took these shots just down the road from my home!

Come on up for the Pick a Pink Lady weekend – you’ll have the opportunity to pick your own fresh apples, taste different varieties, learn a little of how they are grown, buy fresh apples or juice and enjoy a locally made afternoon tea – all this for a gold coin donation!  All you need to bring is the family, some warm clothes, some sturdy shoes, a raincoat if it’s wet and a healthy dose of enthusiasm – the growers will supply the rest!

Head to either
Harrisville Orchards,
72 Harris Rd,Lenswood
or
Mahnew Orchard,
640 Swamp Rd,
Lenswood

10 m to 4 pm Saturday 2nd May and Sunday 3rd May.

Please don’t bring any fruit on to the properties – it can carry pests and disease.

Nothing quite as nice as being in a beautiful orchard surrounded by trees laden with fruit!
