Wish You Were Here Postcards – My Adelaide Hills Back Yard

My back yard.

My back yard.

I just don’t get sick of this view and apparently neither does our Border collie, affectionately known as “Brains” because he has none. He’s a delightful dog and very sweet, just not the sharpest tool in the shed, which is probably why he ended up at the local dog shelter with no one to claim him quite some years ago now. We thought we’d really lucked out as they are supposed to be the smartest breed around. Well, we were lucky and we love him, but more for his charm and gentle manners because he really missed out on the brains.

There’s nothing he likes more than to keep an eye on the paddocks and he’s worn a track down to this vantage point. It keeps him happy.

I love that dog!! He’s guarding his family from any predator coming up that hill. Such a lovely view, Amanda.

That isa just such a lovely story. Unusual indeed for a Collie to have no brains but what ever. He’s still got his eye on the ball.

A loving dog doesn’t need brains, just a good heart and it sounds like Brains has all that in spades. What a gorgeous dog and what an awesome view. I too would be sitting there looking out at all that beauty xx

Very envious of what you see looking out your back door. Brains looks brainy from the back, so that’s a bonus.
