Pier 39 is one of the “must-see” sights for tourists in San Francisco. This popular tourist attraction has street performances, a marine mammal centre and aquarium, shops, restaurants and a two-story carousel. From here you can see Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and these very popular locals. The sea lions loll around in the sun, having moved in increasing numbers to the pier from their previous basking spot at Seal Rocks. Perhaps they just like the attention.
