2023 In The Cookbook Club – And Happy New Year!

29/12/2022 by Amanda

At the rate we are growing, 2023 in the cookbook club is going to be a cracker! Read on to find out what we will be cooking from …

2023 in the cookbook club

Well – Christmas is over, we’re staring down the barrel of new year’s eve, and it’s time to get cracking on 2023 in the cookbook club!I’ll keep this post brief, but I hope you’ve all had a happy week, and managed to find some joy in the season, regardless of how/if you celebrate it. 2022 has seen our little group grow beyond my wildest dreams, and that’s definitely down to the enthusiastic contributions from all of you – our wonderful members!

Our December selection, Around the Table by Julia Busuttil Nishimura, has filled our Facebook group page with photos of some very delicious looking meals, so lots of you have clearly enjoyed the book.

As announced earlier, our January cookbook is the fantastic More Fish, More Veg by Tom Walton, but I guess you’re all dying to know what else is in store for 2023 in the cookbook club?

If you read my last post, our February cookbook selection will be no surprise. I’ve chosen Salamati by Hamed Allahyari. It really is a wonderful book and I just want to share it with as many people as possible. The dishes are incredibly flavourful and the recipes are not at all difficult. I’d really urge you to check this one out. If Persian food is new to you, then this cookbook is the best possible introduction to their world of fresh flavours. Don’t forget that you can purchase the ebook version and use it in full colour on your tablet, or you can find some of the recipes online.

Salamati, favourite cookbook

And in response to the discussion on our Facebook group page about the 2023 whole-year cookbook I know lots of you will be thrilled with this – we will be cooking from delicious. A standby for every Australian cook at one stage of their life or another, delicious. is an astonishing resource. We can cook from any of the magazines from the last 21 years or any of the online recipes, please just state the origin of any images you post so that others can find them.

So – to recap.

Our whole year “cookbook” for 2023 will be delicious. – either the magazines or anything from their website.

February – Salamati by Hamed Allahyari
January – More Fish, More Veg by Tom Walton

I’m signing off for 2022 now – I wish you all a happy, healthy and safe new year, and I look forward to exploring lots more food love with you all during 2023 in the cookbook club.

I can’t believe it’s 21 years since delicious first came out. I remember buying the first one and religiously bought them all for about 15 years. Sadly a bit of a busy life and children and no space meant that I gave them away many years ago. I should’ve held onto them !!

Yes Clare, I got rid of all of mine too!
