Wish You Were Here Postcards – Fruit Vendor on the Streets of Istanbul

Street food takes different forms depending upon where one happens to be, but in Istanbul it is almost limitless in it’s variety – do you remember this postcard? While I wasn’t tempted to try the offerings in my earlier Postcards post, this fresh fruit looked much more appetising. As this lovely looking man was pushing his cart past me, I was tucking in to a splendid lunch, so he had no joy from me on that day. I think I was fortunate – the Istanbul streets were a much more peaceful place when I visited than they are are currently. We live in interesting times.

Yes, there’s so much turbulence in the world right now. That certainly is a huge amount of grapes xx

I’d like a fruit vendor that strolls by my house. How cool!

Sadly I only saw the inside of the airport as I was in transit but sooner or later I will visit properly.

Gorgeous grapes indeed! My sister lived in Turkey for seven years, thankfully she and her family have moved back here now or we wouldn’t be getting much sleep for worrying

That is awesome, what an amazing shot. Turkey is on the list, like Charlie said, there is a lot of ‘stuff’ happening in the world right now, but I don’t think its any worse overall, its just the media making it sound far worse and scary. Although, I could be rather ignorant saying that. Either way, I want in on seeing the grape guy in the flesh. Gorgeous pic.
