Wish You Were here Postcards – Thanksgiving Pumpkin Harvest

26/11/2014 by Amanda

Thanksgiving & pumpkintime

Thanksgiving & pumpkin time

Thanksgiving is not something we celebrate here in Australia although I’m always up for anything that gives me an excuse for a feast.I spotted this pumpkin harvest in a paddock by the side of the road in Quebec, with each type of pumpkin priced accordingly. Selling at the farm gate like this is clearly the way to go and the selection was enormous – far more pumpkin varieties than I’ve seen here. That’s one hell of a lot of pumpkin pies.

Reminds me of the pumpkin harvest at Pialligo Estate here in Canberra.

Wow! And yet I only ever seem to get one lousy pumpkin per huge, miles-long vine 🙁

I remember seeing something like that in America! I guess when you have that many you can definitely use some for Jack o Lanterns!

Yes, this is awesome. 🙂 When I was over in the states a few years back, we went to pumpkin farms with giant piles of different varities, with a special section for the carving ones. It was brilliant. 🙂 Love this, thanks for the trip down memory lane. 🙂
