So, here’s the thing – this totally snuck up on me, but this week marks five years of the Lambs’ Ears Cookbook Club!
The Lambs’ Ears Cookbook Club selection for March
Wow, I have no idea how this happened, but this week we celebrated five years of the Lambs’ Ears Cookbook Club, so to all of my wonderful members and fellow cookbook tragics – happy birthday.
What started out as a way to share some of the fantastic cookbooks that come across my desk (or kitchen table, as the case actually is), took off in ways I really didn’t foresee. We began as the first online cookbook club in Australia, with a handful of cookbook addicts who loved to trawl through recipes and food writing as much as I do, and have grown to be an active, and tireless, membership of well over 1,200+ members.
Any success we enjoy is down to all of you, my wonderful, warm, friendly, and committed members. I love your willingness to give new books and recipes a go, your enthusiastic encouragement of each other, your thoughtful tips and adaptations when a recipe might need a little help, and your courage to share even the odd failure – it’s all this that makes our group work so well. And I know it’s those qualities that the publishers keep an eye on. I’m told that the input from the Lambs’ Ears Cookbook Club does not go unnoticed.
In that spirit, in March we will be cooking from a brand new cookbook – The Actually Delicious One Pot Cookbook by Poppy O’Toole (Poppy Cooks), the hugely popular British sensation. She has over 6.1 million followers across her various platforms, and is now one of the most sought after food influencers in the UK.
Now, as many of you already know, I’m not one to necessarily put too much faith in anyone just because they are designated an ‘influencer’, but I adore Poppy’s flavour-driven approach to food. I’m also a big fan of one pot/pan/sheet tray cooking, so I can’t wait to explore this book further.
Our seasonal flavour focus for March

It’s still hot and summery here in Australia in March, despite the fact that it is technically the first month of Autumn, and summer means zucchini. Those little (and sometimes not-so-little) devils are everywhere. Often, you can’t turn around without someone trying to force a bag of them on to you, so make the most of the glut – and show us your best zucchini work!
What did we cook in February?

One Australian cook that we can never get enough of is Donna Hay. While we were toasting five years of the Lambs’ Ears Cookbook Club in February, we were also enjoying many of Donna’s fresh summery dishes from her latest work, Sunshine Lemons and Sea Salt. Check a few offerings out here, and drool over the rest over in the Lambs’ Ears Cookbook Club Facebook group.

So what will we be cooking in April?
It’s time to dig into your own cookbooks once again!
In April I’d like everyone to choose ONE only of their own cookbooks, and take a really deep dive into it. It can be any kind of cookbook you like, and this is a great chance to have a thorough explore of something that may have been sitting on your shelves for a while.
Feel free to raise a glass to celebrate five years of the Lambs’ Ears Cookbook Club, and by all means, start thinking about which of your own cookbooks you want to play with next month, but in the meantime – lets get familiar with The Actually Delicious One Pot Cookbook from Poppy Cooks.
IF YOU HAVEN’T JOINED THE LAMBS EARS COOKBOOK CLUB YET, YOU WILL FIND ALL THE DETAILS HERE.
