Wish You Were Here Postcards – Berber Blokes in Marrakech, Morocco

27/08/2014 by Amanda

We ran in to these two charmers while wandering through the souk one day in Marrakech. They were delightfully cheery and very happy to pose for a snap – for a price. Their clothing is a traditional Berber costume, but I don’t think for a minute that it’s the sort of gear one would wear for everyday. I assume it is what they would wear for festivals and traditional high days and I suspect these gorgeous blokes were swanning around simply for the benefit of tourists like me. With faces like these, I was more than happy to pay for a picture. As I’m fairly unlikely to be attending any Berber bride-fairs or celebratory gatherings (perhaps my invitation is still in the post?), I may never have the chance to see something like this again!

Oh that’s the best! Looks like a fairly large load they are carrying on their person.
And with faces like those, not sure I would be getting to close.
