Wish You Were Here Postcards – Local Boat Man & His Wife, Hoi An, Vietnam

19/11/2014 by Amanda

Fabulous faces - boat drivers, Hoi An, Vietnam.

Fabulous faces – boat drivers, Hoi An, Vietnam.

The people of Vietnam in general, and certainly of Hoi An, are absolutely delightful. They are warm, friendly and very quick to smile and laugh. I met this gorgeous couple as they pulled up beside the restaurant we were lunching at one day in Hoi An. They have a tiny boat and make their living running tourists up and down the river on local sight-seeing tours. In between trips they pull up to the side of the river and have a doze, but are equally happy to mug for photographers. I guess this is the Vietnamese version of retirement – and they look pretty happy about it.

Vietnamese women over “that age” just have the most beautiful faces. Gorgeous photo.
